Description: This is a USB Smart Media card reader. Kernel 2.4.20-8 under USB Support -> USB Mass Storage. Mounts as a SCSI device. Mine did not say "SDDR-55" on the unit but it does say "20-90-00055" on the bottom of the unit.

Kernel (uname -r): 2.4.22
Distribution: Slackware 9.1



It only took four years, but finally we can read the SmartMedia cards. Looks like you're still out of luck if you run a kernel <=2.4.20 though.
