Description:
|
A silver cased notebook marketed in Australia under the name "Aopen". It has a Pentium 4 Mobile CPU, up to 1GB DDR Ram in two slots, 32MB GeForce2 Go video 15" TFT LCD display, onboard ethernet and modem, one PCMCIA/cardbus slot, svideo out, USB 1.1, IEEE1394 (4 pin),VGA out, parallel port, serial port, docking station port and CDRW/DVD-ROM combo, it has no floppy drive.
Everything works out of the box with the exception of 2d accelerated graphics and the internel modem, the graphics however work perfectly once the Nvidia linux driver has been installed but the modem is somewhat problematic, it may be a HAMR5600 but the latest driver package only lists the ALi 1535 southbridge modem as supported and this machine has an ALi 1533 (see lspci info), I've never got into it as the onboard ethernet works as does the PCMCIA/cardbus socket with respectivly the 8139too and yenta_socket modules - and I not only have cable internet I have an 802.11g wireless LAN :-)
