Would you recommend the product? yes | Price you paid? (in USD): $30.00 | Rating: 8

Kernel (uname -r): 2.6.8-20041018100138cvs
Distribution: suse9.1

0545:8333

models with serial numbers starting with 330v or higher(basically all available at retail outlets) will not work with the ibmcam.c driver as the earlier xirlink based stingrays would.

new unmarked/undocumented chipset. undocumented compression technique.

not going to be supported any time soon without help from veo.

EDIT: now working(mostly), see my latest post.

Kernel (uname -r): 2.6.8-24.11-default
Distribution: suse 9.2

0545:8333 veo stingray serial number 330Vxxxxx

it now has working driver available at:
http://mxhaard.free.fr/index.html

it's a tarball so read the readme for instructions.

the defaults are a bit dark so you will probably want to pass 'gamma=x' when you load the module. x = is a range between 1 and 7

example: modprobe spca5xx gamma=4

i gave it an 8 because it works, but does not yet respond to the contrast, gamma, hue, and color sliders in the normal camera apps.
