This is an update to the HCL entry I posted. SuSE worked good, but Fedora is nearly perfect on it. Only third-party driver I used is ndiswrapper. Modem use was dependent on, for me, using a pcmcia modem, which was fine in suse 8.2, but don't need one with wifi and cable broadband. Most stable experience I've ever had with a computer. Faster than XP. Touchpad shuts off and turns on perfectly with button, only scroll doesn't seem to work unless the pointer is near the scrollbar of the window. Pcmcia works. Usb2.0 not present without pcmcia add-on, cheap on pricewatch. Could have used a dvd burner, but cds seem to burn a bit faster than with xp nero. Still can't get windows update to run. But the best part is, unlike the other distros I've tried, I got 3D support without a tweak! Tuxracer gets moving fast. Apt-get and synaptic are a must, but that's beyond the hardware. A most excellent walkthrough of the install is here: http://stanton-finley.net/fedora_core_3_installation_notes.html
