Description: The FujiFilm FinePix 2800 Zoom digital camera is s 2 Megapixel unit which features an amazing six times optical zoom, as well as a movie mode for capturing up to 60 seconds of video in AVI format (which can be played fine on Xine). It is also possible to use the integral microphone to record a short WAV file, for voice descriptions -- or even sound effects to go with your photos (think steam engines, organs &c.) Pictures are stored on a SmartMedia card.

The most important thing about any camera is the optical system. If the lens is no good, the sensor won't be used to its full potential. The 2800 does not disappoint in this department. Pictures are sharp and clear in normal, zoom and macro modes. The camera gives you a choice of resolutions; but with a 128MB memory card, you can just stick to the highest.

Used under Linux, the device is just like any other USB mass storage device. Just make sure you have USB-storage compiled into your kernel or as a module, and issue mount -tvfat /dev/sda1 /camera (or whatever mount point you used).
