No installation issues with Slack 9.1, but the system hangs up after reboot when loading firewire drivers
Temporarely disabled hotplug features, and installed 2.6.2 kernel with firewire driver and everything is okay either with hotplug enabled
The IGP 340M radeon graphic card requires Xfree 4.4.0 driver to work properly as 4.3.0 one is not usable with such chipset.
Vesa drivers is ok, but too slow for DVD viewing and minimal graphic performances.
Modem drivers are available (payment) at http://www.linuxant.com/drivers/.
They works fine.
Tested kernel 2.6.3 and further releases but found some issues with sound system (arts)

Everything works like a charm except for those multimedia buttons.
That's why I'm not giving it a perfect 10.

Hotplugging works after installing a 2.6.7 or greater kernel. 2.4.x kernel with hotplug will freeze your system on bootup because of the ieee. using xorg 6.8.1 the video card works by default using the radeon driver. to get the battery monitor working add these lines to rc.local:

the only issue I have is not to expect much out of the video card, you will get enough speed out of it to watch dvds just great, but gl applications run really badly. the best i could get was ~300fps with glxgears

also I was installing this on my gf's laptop with a be keyboard layout. Everything works except the multimedia buttons. I think I heard there is away to get them working with omnibook program, i would look it up on sourceforge. I plan on experimenting with it next time i get a chance to play with the laptop (which will be awhile) but I will edit this post when i figure it out.
