Description: The only way that I got X to work on this laptop was using Knoppix V3.3 2004-2-16. Under Knoppix, everything works perfectly even the tricky touchpad with scroll. If you have a PS/2 Mouse plugged in at startup, you can remove it and reattach it at will and then use the touchpad, you can even use both that the same time if you so desire.

Only things that don't work are the sound buttons to the side, and the five special buttons at the top. Not too big of a deal, the speakers aren't too loud and I don't use those buttons anyway.

No major problems except that QTParted couldn't resize my FAT32 partition. No biggie. Alsa and OSS can detect sound card. I recommend ALSA because the sound quality under trident (the module for OSS) is of low quality. ACPI is also not detected, but if I were to do a harddrive install, I could simply enable in it. I recommend the 2.6 kernel for this laptop.

You'd be good running Fedora Core 1, and even Fedora Core 2 Test 3 works great.

Only things I've never tested is the modem (who uses it anyways)

Wifi can be running under Linuxant's driverloader and works great.
