Sound is compatible with alsa drivers ( ran alsaconf, and that was it ) Lan detected (e100) no issues using SMP kernel with HT 3.0E Ghz p4 positives: three case fan monitor connectors AGP 8x onboard LAN onboard Sound HT capable (SMP) PRICE! negatives: bios is very restrictive; not as many options as i'm used to (Tyan,Giga-byte, MSI fan) manual is pretty sketchy; they seemed more concerned with translation into 10 differnt languages than making it easy to read; one diagram (not a lot of detail)

SMC 2802W-CA Hopefully this will help get others connected. The card I got is a PrismGT/Prism Duette ( rev 1 ) 'lspci' reports: 00:0f.0 Network controller: Intersil Corporation Intersil ISL3890 [Prism GT/Prism Duette] (rev 01) i used the 1.2 version from http://prism54.org and the firmware from http://prism54.org/~mcgrof/firmware/1.0.4.3.arm renamed to 'isl3890' and placed in the '/usr/lib/hotplug/firmware' dir.. Remember to rename the file (I didn't and it took me a while to figure out what I had done wrong). Strangely the device doesn not show up as a wlan device as I expected but eth1 in my case. I had to mess around with the config (/etc/sysconfig/networking/devices/ifcfg-eth1, /etc/sysconfig/network-scripts/ifcfg-eth1 ) files for quite a while but i was eventually able to get it working with 'system-config-network' .
