This drive is compatible with almost every known DVD media on the planet. I've only tested the regular DVD RW and DVD R media (4gb) and it was perfect but you can get dual layered media that can hold up to 8.5 GB! Two choices of connection i-Link cable that has the 400Mbps transfer rate or the USB 2.0 that has a 480Mbps, both cable are included as well as the Nero 6 suit for Windows. Tons of storage and a good price, I sent in the 30 dollar mail in rebate so I'm really only paying 130 dollars total. One of the features of an external drive that I love is that you can share it with your Laptop. Your not stuck like with the internal drives. I love this DVD drive and it's nice to look at, Silver polished metal look.

They only problem I ran into with this player was it was unable to play ogg format. Once in a while I would notice that a mp3 file wouldn't play or it would stall the player. I fixed this by either restarting the player or I would use the format/delete options that is built into it and just replace the file that was actin retarded. Other than that I love it. The 128 has limited storage, around 25 to 28 songs depending onthe size of the file but there are 256 and 512 models available. I bought mine at compusa and you can get the other model just make sure you call in advance, sometimes they only sell them on the internet for delivery only.
