 Camera worked ok in Mandriva 2008.0 using the gspca driver. Mandriva 2009.1 is affected by a bug that also affects other Linux distributions which stops this camera working. gspca module is now included in kernel however camera is mis-associated with the out-dated zc0301 module and gspca does not load. Camera therefore does not function and won't unless you modify kernel source and rebuild the kernel or wait for an updated package.

 uvcvideo module handles this webcam (v4l1_compat module is also loaded automatically). Can confirm that camera works perfectly with Skype and cheese. I haven't tested the microphone.

 Supports USB Mass Storage and PTP. I use USB MS and can upload files no problem. Photos in jpeg format or tiff so no problems there. Movies are in MPEG-4 mp4 format. Video can be viewed using ffmpeg or mplayer but audio is in AAC format. Therefore I must transcode the audio to wav, mp2, mp3 or ac3 using faad before viewing the movies - thats the major annoyance. i have a script that automates this so not a big issue. Quality of videos is amazing so worth the trouble.

 Camera supports USB Mass Storage therefore works great! PS Cool camera - long, long battery life and great big LCD.
