Now I am very confused. This is a SCSI card, but it was moved into audio devices, which is COMPLETELY wrong. Someone needs to move it back to SCSI cards where it belongs.

We are currently using about 400 of these motherboards at work in a High Performance Computing cluster. While they have performed admirably, we have been having problems with MCE errors being generated, in some cases profusely.
One of the problems we have seen is that if all of the memory slots on the motherboard are filled, memory problems tend to be much higher. There have been reports that one of the causes of this is that when all of the slots are filled, the change in capacitance for the memory infrastructure is such that problems occur in the memory.
One other problem that kind of annoyed us for a little while is that the Broadcom gigabit ethernet chipset on the motherboard does not support Jumbo frames.

Had no problems with this card during installation at all. It has dual port outputs on it for twin displays, and after downloading and installing the nvidia drivers from their website, then configuring x11 to use TwinView, it fired up in dual display mode without a hitch.

I have had one of these scanners since 1996, and it has always performed admirably for me. Back when I first bought it, everything that was coming out at the time were parallel port driven scanners, and they were slow.
This blew them all away, and the price point for it was wonderful.
Yes, it originally came with an Adaptec 1502E card, which was a really poor adapter (ISA based), but over the years I have upgraded machines and SCSI cards, and the progression has never had any trouble with this scanner.

I have had this card for years, and it has always been a good card to me. Heck, I still use it today, and I have had it almost ten years. That is pretty good lifespan for a PC component, if you ask me.
Here is the dmesg output of the card with nothing attached to it when the module for it is loaded:
sym0: rev 0x4 at pci 0000:01:0a.0 irq 19
sym0: Symbios NVRAM, ID 7, Fast-20, SE, parity checking
sym0: open drain IRQ line driver, using on-chip SRAM
sym0: using LOAD/STORE-based firmware.
sym0: SCSI BUS has been reset.
scsi2 : sym-2.2.3

Interesting that there has been trouble using the USB hub that the keyboard contains, as it worked fine for me the first time I plugged it in. Volume controls in Gnome also work (F11 and F12 keys), so that was not a problem for me either. NumLock also works fine for me, and I am able to switch back and forth between the number keys and the directional keypad using the numlock key.
