What's wrong with the terminal?

[RANT] I get a little tired sometimes of hearing people complain about using the terminal, so here's my story:

A couple years ago, the Automatic Updater on my daughter's XP machine stopped working. Attempting to update manually only gave an error number, so, I contacted Microsoft, and guess what? I had to open the Run dialog box, and type a lengthy string of commands and parameters to fix the problem! Imagine that! So for all of you who think Windows is 'CLI-free', guess again! [/RANT]...
