Two years since the last Free Empires source release we finally are able to show the world some of the things we have been working on. Lamp Refugee is a project we started last May to help speed up the development of the Gambas Genie engine, the one that is going to be used for Free Empires. It has been awhile since I have posted an update here. Anyway, Piga Software now has an account on Freshmeat and two of our finished applications have already been submitted and approved to be in its database. One is for PigaVision, and the other is for a graphical adventure game I first released in May.

I finished my first Linux program yesterday, and what is surprising to me is that it turned out to be a utility. It is a tv-out front-end interface for the XRandR and Xvattr applications. I hope to add some features which I scraped because of time restraints into a 2.0.0 release (Thinking about a release date of Christmas or New Years, but don't quote me on that). Version 1.0.1 still works as a basis for tv-out though, and should help new users get the most out of their video cards.

Time for an update. I have been doing more experimentation with probability Gambas code. It is amazing how useful probability can be, with a little work you can make a functional artificial intelligence with just a random number generator. My code has been taking on some interesting forms, but I dont feel at liberty to tell what yet.

Free Empires has been getting some more attention recently from Me and Graham. We have been messing around with sprite drawing, having fun texturing....
